Frisco is like an intersection of mountains, rivers, history and summer excitement. Stroll through time down Main Street, where you'll see a line-up of shops, stores, galleries and museums guiding you to the Marina on Lake Dillon.

This is Main Street of the Rockies, your point of departure for days of fun in Frisco. Take it west to the mountains and east to the Frisco Lakefront Park and marina. There's no shortage of delicious restaurants, unique shops, galleries, museums and sports outfitters. You can also jump off to the extended selection of suppliers and larger retailers along Summit Boulevard. Just hop on I-70 to Exits 201 and 203.

History has always been in the making on Main Street. Legends of fur trappers, gold panners and silvery fortunes linger in the log buildings and heritage sites in downtown Frisco. Make sure to set aside time to slip back into Frisco's intriguing history and see how Frisco evolved. Check out the Frisco Historic Park, where the past is so beautifully preserved. The Frisco Historic Park and Museum features 12 authentic buildings that functioned for pioneers of the area now known as the White River National Forest. Here you'll see history at its best with original nineteenth century buildings, a recreation of the 1881 Jail and the Schoolhouse Museum.

Over 2,600 full-time residents and 4,000 second-homeowners know what it's like to enjoys this superb quality of life. Frisco has outstanding schools, excellent health care with a new hospital, a beautiful downtown and a convenient location.

In the winter, twinkling lights illuminate the festive snow - coating streets of Frisco during ski season. Six miles up the canyon is Copper Mountain where the skiers ski and the riders ride on 300+ inches of annual snowfall. You can also ski or snowboard at Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin and Loveland, all just minutes away. Other activities in and around Frisco include snowmobile tours, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, dog sledding and dinner sleigh rides. Skate and Classic Nordic skiers love the Frisco Nordic Center with 43 Kilometers of cross-country and 15 Kilometers of snowshoe trails.

In the summer months, glistening reflections in Lake Dillon repeat the bounty of scenery here at the western edge of the Summit County Basin. Ten-mile Creek feeds native trout into town. Grey's and Torre's 14,000 foot peaks play guardian to a magnificent playground for adventurers. The routes for mountain journeys and wilderness touring are plentiful and easy to access from the center of town.

Ahoy Mates! At the Frisco Lakefront Park and Marina, you can rent a powerboat, sailboat or kayak to help you float away. Lake Dillon is one of Colorado largest lakes with 25 miles of shoreline and magnificent scenery. The Frisco Bay Marina, headed up by marina manager Phil Hofer, also offers sailboat rentals, lessons, tours and paddleboats. For those wishing to try their hand at that zen-like sport, the Frisco Bay Rowing Center is also headquartered there.

Located 1/2 mile south of Frisco on Highway 9, heading towards Breckenridge, you'll find the Peninsula Recreation Area. The Recreation area, sports a selection of trails, ballfields, skatepark, Peak One Disc Golf course, picnic spots and lookouts.

Frisco, being centrally located, has easy access to every edge of the County via the Bike Path. You can bike, hike, or in-line skate along the paved path of the Ten Mile Recreational Pathway. This bike path covers more than 55 miles, stretching all the way from Vail to Frisco to Keystone.

A stroll down Main Street will lead you to an array of shops that are filled with small-town charm. While on Highway 9, east of Main Street, you can find big retail outlets such as Walmart and Safeway. Small retailers are also in the area that offer everything from golf equipment to art supplies.

Summer celebrations on Main Street include Music on Main Street, Vettes on the Rockies and our famous Colorado Barbecue Challenge. Be sure not to miss Frisco's Fantastic Fourth of July Celebration, featuring a Main Street parade, kids' fishing derby, live music, food and fireworks.
